Maruti Suzuki Ritz - Indian Splash: Review

The Hot news in the Automobile market was the launch of Maruti's new variety of Hatch Back model - "RITZ".

The car design is itself more appealing and will be feast for eyes. Unlike the Hatch back cars which has a C-curve at the back, Ritz is modeled with a flat Hatch back not exactly like Wagon-R or like A-Star, more unique than the both.

The Car is large enough or more comfortable for a normal family.

Spacious interiors, Large Body, Luxurious suspensions are some of the Highlights of the Ritz.

Actually Ritz was the Indian version of Suzuki Splash, but due to some unavoidable reasons company has chosen the name "RITZ".

Specifications:
  1. Engine Displacement: 1248cc
  2. Output Power: 78bhp@4200rpm
  3. Engine Torque: 165nm@1500rpm
  4. Top Speed: 155 kmph
  5. Gear: 5 speed
  6. Fuel Tank: 45ltrs
  7. A/C
  8. Power windows
Pros:
  1. Superior sports design
  2. World class Engine with utmost performance
  3. More spacious interiors
  4. Lowered Air Spoilers
Cons:
  1. Slightly over priced comparatively
  2. Limited performance when compared to Splash
  3. Poor in mileage
The Car will be featuring with not only spacious but more functional interiors (in terms of multimedia features) than its predecessors, so which will be more liked by the current generation.

The most comfortable news in that Maruti Suzuki Ritz will come in Petrol as well as Diesel Variants.

Yamaha Gladiator: The Real warrior

Yamaha Gladiator, As the name mentions it is a real warrior. Initially Yamaha launched Fazer 125 in india to compete with Pulsar and CBZ*.

Believe me, am not joking.

Fazer
when launched in India with 123.7cc and output power of 10.8bhp and with top speed of 108kmph.

At that time specs pulsar and CBZ* were very less:
  1. pulsar - 150cc, 12bhp, 112kmph.
  2. CBZ* - 156cc, 13.5bhp, 115kmph.

Later these bikes have been featured with new innovation and came up into a frustrating Super Sports bike.

Fazer which lost its market was taken out and brought in as Gladiator. The style and Graphics were more appealing and top speed was increased even though company says 108kmph i have crossed 112kmph with it.

Gladiator is the Incomparable winner in the 125 segment, even the Discover 125 changed to 135cc because of its strong competition.

Specifications:
  1. Displacement: 123.7cc
  2. Engine type: SOHC, 4 stroke
  3. Output power: 10.8bhp @7500rpm
  4. Engine Torque: 10.4nm@6500rpm
  5. Gears: 5 speed
  6. Tank Capacity: 13 Ltrs
  7. Top Speed: 108kmph (Actual >112kmph)
Pros:
  1. Decent looks
  2. Aggressive Engine
  3. Low noise
  4. SS and RS design was excellent like an 150cc bike
  5. Good mileage
Cons:
  1. Less pickup
  2. Old type Engine
  3. Stickers are easily removable
To over come all the issues in Gladiator and to have a new alternative in 125cc segment, Yamaha decided to launch its R125 into india.

Lets welcome!!! but dont forget the Warrior!!!

Cheers!!!

  2. Engine Type: 4 stroke, SOHC
  3. Output Power: 17bhp@8500rpm
  4. Engine Torque: 15nm@7500rpm
  5. Weight: 131 kgs
  6. Tank Capacity: 12 Ltrs
  7. Body Type: delta Box frame
  8. Gear: 6 speed gear
  9. Top Speed: 145kmph
Pros:
  1. 'DiaSil' Engine and Engine outer coating for preventing oil leakage
  2. Body Design proves Yamaha's Art of Excellence
  3. Stability at higher speeds even in windy roads
  4. Excellent pick up and top speed( 0 to 60 Kmph in 3 secs)
  5. Dual Disc Brakes
  6. Digital Speedometer and Fuel Gauge

Long time no see?

When you open this blog you don't see my bike's picture featuring anywhere on first page. However all other pages have it. I am wondering how did this happen? And to wipe out this poor treatment to my own bike, here are some random pics of her along with some facts and figures.

1. First of all, the bike completed 10k. It is currently running at 12k something.

2. Most of this 12k has been city riding, almost 70%.

3. So that means I am not a tourer.

4. Of late, the bike runs 100kms on 100INR petrol. I put normal petrol which runs at 45.56INR. Go figure the efficiency.

5. Loyal readers may remember that my bike particularly has been ridden with electrical issues. This trend seems to be breaking as the bike is running flawlessly for past 5k kms. Or is it that I have become more liberal towerds her? need to find out because the weird fuel guage, pain in the ass self-cancelling-indicators which are rendered to normal push-cancel indicators now a days, don't seem to bother me.

6. According to ProBiking people chain and the sprockets are due for change. I can see some links in that O-Ring chain are not properly aligned, So they might be right after all.

7. Inquired with some experts. They said 15k is the limit for such chains. And I am 3k short of that mark. I remember the day I bought the bike was not so particularly bad at all. But it happens. The chain set including 2 sprockets costs 1150INR. plus 200INR service tax.

8. Oh and yeah, it also met with its first puncture. At the rear wheel. Repairing was surprisingly easy and quick(and expensive). The puncture repair kit retails for 350INR. Need to get one.

9. I wanted those rim stripes badly. Checked with shops which make number plates. But the red redium stripe which glows in dark when light falls on it looks cheapo in my opinion. And then happened to go to Yamaha showroom and I saw that they have these ready cut vinyl stripes for 17' rim size for sale. Bought one set in golden for 350INR. It doesn't glow in dark. Thanks yamaha, but what an irony!

10. Osram Night Breaker (55/60w) H4 lamp combined with stator plate from avenger 180 looks like a good option to resolve the weak head lamp issue of pulsar 200.
I have not done this, but seems a good and not very expensive option. You can find out more details about this here on RoadRollers. Thanks all at RoadRollers :)

In the mean while, we have another alteration on Pulsar 200 coming from sunny who owns this fabulous bike. Stripping the already naked street fighter? He just doesn't know where to stop ehh?
But I hope you all like it as I did.Poor baby loses the already skimpy bikini fairing here and I am not unhappy with the results. After all I am yet to come across a guy who hates skin show.

Thank sunny for wonderful pics of a wonderful bike.

Ride safe.

Cubic Capacity of an Engine

CUBIC CAPACITY OF AN ENGINE

What is Cubic Capacity?

Cubic Capacity of an engine is defined as the Volume of the Cylinder in the Engine. Generally The Cubic Capacity differs as the length of the Cylinder height differs.

When the Height of the cylinder becomes more lengthier the Piston will travel more length in a single stroke which effects in maximum output.

The Cubic Capacity concept is the same for cars and Bikes and all other Engines.

In Cars and Bigger vehicles the number of cylinders will be more, thus the over all cubic capacity will be considered.

for eg: Maruti 800 has 3 cylinders with cubic capacity of 265 to 267(approx.) which the Engine has the combined cubic capacity of 267*8=800CC.

Was it clear???

Bajaj Discover 150 - "Ready to Fight"

BAJAJ DISCOVER 150cc
India has always a special craze for new bikes, Even the World's recession has not affected Indian Bike Industry and that is the reason why the World's leading automobile manufacturers started approaching India for creating new markets. Everybody thought that Native Indian bike manufacturers would perish because of this All of a sudden change. But situation is not so.

Our Indian Bike manufacturers started competing with the World's Leading manufacturers with new design and Excellent quality bikes.

As a part of this, I Would like to Include Bajaj's Discover 150cc Sprint.

Since all the bike companies released their new 150cc Bikes, Bajaj was still delaying its Discover 150cc release.

This was because the Yamaha launched R15 and FZ followed by Suzuki's GS150R and which were of great performance and speed

But all of a sudden the Hi-speed 150cc Engine about to be prepared, has not been completed it seems. that is why the new discover 150 loaded with the old Bajaj pulsar 150cc.

May be to confuse the new bikers by providing two bikes with the same category like what Hero Honda does with Hunk and CBZ Xtreme.

Any how, the Discover 150cc has launched and here is my short snippet about the Bike.

Bike is designed in the Sprint Model, Bajaj's latest Design. Similar to XCD125.

I hope the bike will be the combination of Power along with good mileage because it is lighter when compare to Bajaj 150 cc.

The Body design is the most aggressive and resembles that "It is ready for a Fight Always"

Expect my special review on the Bike in the following Posts.

Cheers!!!

The hero comes up with famous DICOR engine from Tata 2.2 litres VTT engine.

DICOR - Direct Injection COmmon Rail;
