Bajaj and Austrian brand KTM into India with the launch of KTM Duke 200. we all  have been talking about the Duke ever since we got to know of Bajaj’s plans of launching the brand in India. The 200 Duke will also be launched in other other developing markets like Brazil and Malaysia.



The 200 will entirely be manufactured in India and will make use of high local content. This simply means that Bajaj will be able to price the bike competitively &  the Duke 200 is expected to be slotted between the Yamaha R15 V 2.0 & the Honda CBR250R in terms of pricing.


Bajaj will announce the prices when it formally launches the bike tomorrow.

         KTM DUKE MAY BE GOING TO LAUNCH 3RD JANUARY 2012







The bike manufacturer Bajaj will enter into the company of select few by launching the KTM at a price well above Rs.1lakh. Finally, we bikers will be in state of bliss, finding pleasure in the fact that we will be able to buy KTM off the shelf. However, only some of us might buy it in actuality but the rest of us can at least start aspiring to buy one. KTM 200 Duke has to be one of the most awaited launch in the Indian market. KTM is renowned for designing and producing one of the most technologically advanced motorcycles. By its looks alone, KTM bikes can make any avid biker start salivating. Sources reveal that the KTM Duke 200 will come on 3rd of January, 2012. It may be noted that the Duke 125 is already under production at the Bajaj’s manufacturing plant near Pune. We, however, will not get the 125 but will have to contend ourselves with the 200. And looking at the specifications, it does not seems to be a difficult job. The KTM Duke 200 is powered by a 199.5cc engine tat pump out a healthy 25 BHP of power at 10,000 RPM and a torque of 19.5 Nm at around 8000 RPM. The engine is a short stroke unit and the Duke 200 is expected to reach 60 kmph from nothing in 3.3 seconds while 0-100 kmph timing is expected to come up in 9.5 seconds. The bike is L-I-G-H-T with the kerb weight of the bike being just 136 kg. The Duke sports inverted telescopic forks up front while rear features a mono-shock. The pricing hasn’t been announced yet but sources in the industry state that the price could in range of Rs. 1.25 to 1.35 lakhs.
