In a bid to keep the cost low, Toyota India compromised on the aesthetics of interiors. The grey tone interiors became the weakest link of the entire package. Took a long time for Toyota to figure out the Achilles heel but they have finally set the records straight.

Toyota India presented a Liva with revamped interiors at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo. Here we have images from the Expo.

As one can easily notice, the dull grey tone is passé and is replaced by a jet black tone. Changes have been made to the music system panel as well. The gear knob is now silver and not a flashy red one. We also noticed that the fit and finish of the panels have been improved dramatically.

Toyota also claimed that they have worked on the NVH levels of the Liva to make it quieter at high speeds (another major problem in the Liva). However, since we haven’t driven the new one, we cannot vindicate that claim.

Toyota is preparing to unveil a sporty new concept at this month's Detroit Auto Show.

Toyota "NS4", the new concept will see Toyota return to the technology that has been its future-thinking focus in recent years: the pairing of conventional combustion engines with electric motors.

The Toyota NS4 will feature a plug-in electric vehicle powertrain - much like the upcoming Prius PHEV - utilising the same 1.8 litre petrol engine, electric motor & lithium-ion battery arrangement.

With little more than a week until its unveiling , Toyota has released a new teaser video for the Toyota  NS4. There's little here in the way of details, but a few short glimpses of the concept's styling can be spotted by the eagle-eyed viewer.

Watch for the Toyota  NS4 to make its debut in the coming week.

Toyota Etios compact car come at 5th position in Indian.

Toyota Motor Corp ( TMC )has been receiving good response to their Etios which was launched in December 2010. In the past 12 months the company has seen increased sales in india .

Therefore, the annual production of the car will be increased three times by 2013 from the present 210,000 units, said Hiroshi Nakagawa, President of Toyota Kirloskar Motors Pvt. Ltd. The Japanese vehicle manufacturer will be reviewing the production costs to increase sales of Etios Toyota.

Between January & November 2011, the sales of Etios have increased by 67% Year-over-Year, helping the company sell a total 112,000 vehicles between the 11 months. This resulted in company’s fifth largest share in the Indian car market, as reported by the company officials.

To increase sales of Etios Toyota will be reviewing their production costs to as to ensure lower prices and offer Indian customers what they desire.

Etios is a compact car with highly luxurious interiors which the company offers for a price of Rs.4, 94,000 for the base model. The company plans on increasing their dealerships across Indian and developing their exports from the country to countries of South Africa as well.

TOYOTA NEW TRD AQUA / PRIUS C HYBRID IN JAPAN

Toyota launched the all-new Aqua hybrid that will be marketed as the Prius C in markets outside of Japan and which will make its North American debut at the forthcoming Detroit Motor Show in January.

On the same day that the regular Aqua went on sale in its home market, Toyota's TRD racing and performance division announced a slew of tuning upgrades for the sub-compact hatchback.

The exterior packages are TRD's offerings include a new front apron with additional air vents and optional LED daytime running lights, matching side skirts, a roof spoiler, and a rear apron that incorporates a diffuser in a matte black finish.

The interior packages are there's a new TRD push-button start while performance mods are limited -for the time being- to a sports exhaust system with a pair of chrome tailpipes, larger alloy wheels and a suspension package with new springs and shock absorbers that lower the car's ride height.

TRD said that it will release more styling accessories and performance mods in the near future.
