Yamaha Motors to Expand Production Capacity in 2012

Hi Readers! To start with here is wishing all the readers a very happy and prosperous new year. Now for the news; two wheeler maker Yamaha Motors is aiming to expand its production capacity in 2012. Yamaha announced on Saturday that they are planning to expand their production capacity to as much as one million units in 2012 (guess this is not their New Year’s resolution which eventually gets stale by timeJ). All in all, Yamaha India is aiming to sky rocket their production capacity to a million units by the end of 2012.

Yamaha Motors was silent about the investment part but they said that the sales figures have really improved. The company said that the sales for the past month stood at 44976 units (domestic- 33290 and exports- 11686) as against 34896 units (domestic 26567 and exports 8272 units) in the same period of 2010. The last month witnessed a 29% growth in sales figures. Yamaha has decided to continue with their plans of increasing production capacity because the aims at attaining the top spot in the Indian two wheeler market. Earlier in November 2011, Mr. Suzuki (CEO, Yamaha Motors) said that the company was in a severe condition and would break even by 2013 as they are planning to increase their production capacity. Keeping in mind the great demand for Yamaha products, Suzuki said that the company aims to sell at least 10 lakh vehicles in domestic market by 2014.

Yamaha motors did not reveal either the investment required or their plan as to how are they going to achieve their goal of producing as much as a million units. All in all, we can just assume that Yamaha is still planning and the true picture as to the execution of this humongous task will come out a bit later. We hope and pray that Yamaha gets what they wish for in this new year of success. Finally I would like to wish each one of the Bike Advice readers a “Very Happy New Year” and all the “Success”.

Hi Readers. We are looking at a brand new year ahead of us at BikeAdvice, 2011 was one full year of feeding you with all the best of the happenings, news and reviews of all that happened not just in India but across the globe as well. We’ve had our authors working committed to bring all updates live onto your screens.

As you all know, we’ve always either been first of one among the first to bring in the review of bikes at the least possible time and our review of R15 V2.0 is still a standing example for it. This time, we took a giant leap forward. Guess what? Our Author Naren has reviewed two models of Polaris Off-Roading machines along with our photographer Sharat Aryan.

Polaris was launched very recently in India and we grasped the opportunity even before it knocked our doors. Our test was carried out on a proper off-roading track which was exclusively set up for this. Naren has good experience when it comes to handling these ATVs as he is pretty used to it in his past.

As of now, we share a few of out pics clicked while carrying out the (off) road test. Naren is working on the report and it’ll be out after the auto expo is over. Stay tuned to stay updated.

SUZUKI INAZUMA 250 COMING IN AUTO EXPO 2012

SUZUKI INAZUMA 250 COMING IN AUTO EXPO 2012

At the 2012 Indian Auto -Expo , Suzuki looks certain to finally take the plunge into the sub-250cc performance motorcycle segment. It has only recently unveiled the Inazuma 250 to the UK audience

The Inazuma 250's styling is inspired from the B-King (the Hayabusa-based monstrous naked, for those who don't recollect) and while the looks can be described as conservative at best, it's not one bit offensive. And then there's the small matter of those twin tailpipes – an India first, at least in the non-import class – which, despite the weight gain, is bound to become an instant hit with boy racers. While the front forks are, expectedly, conventional ( not upside down, that is ), the rear sports a monoshock and there's a disc each at the front and rear.

Technical specifications for the Suzuki  Inazuma 250 have yet to be announced, so it’s not known whether it will differ much mechanically from the GW250. Visually, the GW250 & the Inazuma 250 are identical, drawing styling cues from the Suzuki B-King.
What we do know is the Inazuma 250 is powered by a new liquid-cooled SOHC parallel Twin engine with a six-speed transmission. Suzuki tuned the engine to optimize performance at low- and mid-range speeds, making it an appealing option for new riders in urban stop-and-go traffic.

Helping make the Inazuma 250 more newbie-friendly is a new instrument panel with gear indicator, service reminder and a three-mode RPM indicator which suggests when to change gears to optimize fuel economy or performance.

Pricing information has yet to be announced but the U.K.’s MCN reports Suzuki aims to undercut the Kawasaki Ninja 250R and Honda CBR250R.
