LML IS GOING TO RE- LAUNCH “ FREEDOM” MOTORCYCLE

LML IS GOING TO RE- LAUNCH “ FREEDOM” MOTORCYCLE

(LML) Lohia Machines Limited has recently talked about having planned some major launches for the Indian market. It may be noted that the Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh based manufacturer had stopped operating few years back due to labour issues. Only this year has the company made its re-entry into the market.

At the commencement of its operations, the manufacturer had launched the NV series of scooters. We might also see the manufacturer re-introduce its Freedom motorcycle in the market.

“We felt that LML Freedom still has an after-life simply because there is a section of satisfied consumers still using the motorcycle. We still have the old platform but the new Freedom will be a much-evolved product, which would be differently engineered with a new engine,” PS Choudhary, head of marketing and sales, LML said.

SPY SHOT OF NEW 2012 TATA SAFARI “STORM”

SPY SHOT OF NEW 2012 TATA SAFARI “STORM”

The all facelifted New Tata Safari was caught in Pune city during an ad shoot. Tata Motors will launch the Safari Storm at the 2012 Auto Expo.

From the images the Safari gets new wraparound headlamps with projectors, a new broad grille with a chrome stripe on top, new design front bumper with fog lamps.

The new Safari was delayed quiet a lot mainly due to quality issues. The 2012 Safari is based on the Aria platform and will get the same engine under the hood. We expect the 2.2 litre Dicor with 140 Ps and 320Nm of Torque to do the duty.

Tata has chosen the four spoke steering design which gives a chunky feel and may house a airbag. The SUV also gets Wooden dashboard inserts and round dials give the dashboard a elegant look. More features include Dual exhausts like the Aria, A chrome plate at the rear which gives it a rich look and a set of new Alloy wheels. What’s most important now is that the Safari should be more value for money.

New safety features in new safari are 6 airbags, ABS, EBD ESP & hopefully a new feature the Hill decent control could make it in the new Safari.

The company has set Mahindra XUV as the benchmark and we expect Tata to do some magic with the pricing. Hope Tata does not play a heavy price tag card like the Aria.

Upcoming Bajaj Pulsar 2012 - Spy Pics (Updated)

2013 VW Golf

                                  2013 VW Golf

Another illustration.
We might even se more before the car comes out. Which could be as early as next March.
No matter what, it will be pretty close to this.
VW never came out with a crazy redesign for the Golf. A best seller for so many years.
It will be what Toyota does here with the Camry. Only car fans and previous owners will be able to tell the new one from the current one.
Which, I guess, works for them . Year after year.

This also means an all new GTI is not far behind...

TOYOTA KIRLOSKER RECALLS 41,000 UNITS OF ETIOS & LIVA CAUSE OF FAULTY FUEL INLET.

TOYOTA KIRLOSKER RECALLS 41,000 UNITS OF ETIOS & LIVA CAUSE OF FAULTY FUEL INLET.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor India Pvt Ltd, the local arm of Toyota Motor Corporation, said it will ask owners to bring their cars back to dealers to replace parts in the Etios sedan and Liva hatchback. This will include close to 41,000 cars produced until late October.

Toyota joins its Japanese rival Honda Motor Co Ltd that embarked on a similar exercise in February when it asked owners to bring back 57,853 City sedans to replace a defective spring that could stall engines, in line with an international programme.
Sandeep Singh, deputy managing director (marketing) at Toyota Kirloskar, said the move was not a recall. “It’s part of a special service campaign and not a recall,” he said. “We realised there are surface cracks in the hose and filler pipes. While it doesn’t pose any immediate danger, we decided to change the parts as a pre-emptive measure,” he added.

On 22 December, the Indian unit of Toyota advertised in national dailies announcing the special service campaign. “We had observed a potential case of aberration in the filler hose in some of the Toyota Etios and Etios Liva vehicles. In line with Toyota’s global policy to be honest and sincere with our customers, we have, as a precautionary measure, organized a special service campaign for all Etios and Etios Liva cars where the affected parts will be checked and replaced free of cost,” the advertisement said.

Singh said it wasn’t the first time the company was organizing a service campaign, having undertaken a similar campaign for the Innova, its multi-purpose vehicle, in the past.

Mohit Arora, executive director, JD Power Asia Pacific, Inc, Singapore, said, “In India, people tend to associate recalls with product failures, which is incorrect.” According to him, more than anything else, it’s a pre-emptive measure taken by a manufacturer to replace a part that could potentially cause problems. “It’s a positive thing as the car maker is...fixing the issue,” said Arora. Owing to the negative bias attached to recalls, carmakers in India avoid using the term and prefer to host service campaigns or deal with the issue on a one-to-one basis, he added.

In May 2010, followed by sporadic incidents of the Nano catching fire, Tata Motors Ltd decided to install additional safety features in at least 70,000 of the cars it had sold, if the owners wanted them. As part of bolstering safety, the company offered to cover the catalytic converter to prevent the car from catching fire, besides the installation of a fuse.

Toyota entered the volume car segment in India with the the Etios sedan in December 2010, followed by its Liva hatchback version in June. In the April-November period it sold 15,861 Liva hatchbacks and 30,173 of the Etios sedans, according to the Society of indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

2013 LEXUS IS

                            2013 LEXUS IS

Lexus started work on a new 4-door sedan based on the FT-86 platform.

Although it’s nearly a half decade away, we are hearing reports that the next-generation IS sedan will make its debut sometime in 2013. The reason, according to our sources, is that work has started on a new 4-door sedan based on the FT-86 platform. For those who are not familiar with the FT-86, it’s the concept car that made news at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show. As the spiritual successor to the old Levin AE-86, a car we called the Corolla coupe, the rear-wheel-drive FT-86 will make its debut in June 2012.

As for the Lexus IS, this car will be built atop a stretched version of the FT-86 chassis. Toyota boss Akio Toyoda is keen on spicing up Toyota’s image into one with a more powerful emphasis on sport, so we hear the next IS will look and perform sportier than the current model.

While the FT-86 sports car will be powered by Subaru’s EJ20 engine (2.0-liter flat-4), the IS will be powered by a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder and/or a 3.6-liter flat-6. The 2013 Lexus IS F will continue with a high-powered V-8 that’ll make the luxury sedan a presence on the racetrack.

This model they may launch in india also in 2013.

TOYOTA IS PLANING TO MAKE A SMALL CAR FOR EUROPE

TOYOTA IS PLANING TO MAKE A SMALL CAR FOR EUROPE

Toyota is packing up its small-car development and shipping it all to its European offices.

There are clearly strategic objectives in the move: Toyota will be looking to its European division to improve the appeal of its small car range - for both current and new models.

Perhaps surprisingly, Toyota is not a top-ten carmaker in Europe, nor does it have a top-ten model. Moving development of its small cars there will certainly give it a better handle on succeeding in what is arguably the most important small car market on the planet.

European style and technology dominates this sector - something the Koreans have been quick to recognise.

The move follows a management shuffle that has seen Toyota Europe's product planning and marketing boss Alain Uyttenhoven now overseeing the future development of the Corolla and Yaris, along with the Aygo city car.

"It is essential to bring focus to this mission and the product planning division will play a key role in this integrated strategy, together with our engineers and designers," Toyota Motor Europe CEO Didier Leroy said.

Toyota currently offers a wide range of small, light and "kei class" (660cc-engined sub-light cars) vehicles in its home market. It is unclear if development of light and sub-light models will continue in Japan or if they too will come out of Europe in the future.

They don’t launch TOYOTA ETIOS like quality & outdated design car for Europe, ETIOS & Q- Class is only for our poor INDIANS.
