Hero Honda launches Impulse

Hero Motocorp has launched the Impulse, under its new identity. The company has priced the Impulse well at Rs 66,800 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and it is the country’s first dual purpose motorcycle to take care of both on and off roads. By launching this bike, Hero Motocorp has created a new segment altogether in the Indian 2 wheeler market. Mr. Anil Dua, Sr. Vice President (Marketing & Sales), Hero MotoCorp said, “Impulse – the first model to be launched under our new brand identity – is not just a new product. It also introduces an entirely new segment within the motorcycle market, i.e. the ‘on-road-off-road’ segment. This is a dual-purpose bike, which can be used on regular city roads as well as on off-road terrain. With the attractive price tag, we are sure ‘Impulse’ is going to bring a lot of cheer and added excitement for our customers this festive season. And so, we have planned to make Impulse available for test rides and purchase at several locations across the country ahead of Diwali.”

The Impulse is powered by a 150 cc motor that produced 13.2 ps of power at 7500 RPM and a healthy torque of 13.4 Nm at 5000 RPM.

It is going to be available in 5 colours- Black, Vibrant Blue Metallic, Sports Red, Leaf Green Metallic and Vibrant Orange.

India's first dirt bike to be launched by Hero Honda

Hero Honda Motors Ltd (soon to be renamed Hero MotoCorp. Ltd), India’s largest two-wheeler maker by sales, is going to introduce at least three new models before the end of the year, with the first of these being a dirt bike that it will launch under its new name after a split with Japan’s Honda Motor Co. Ltd, its partner of 26 years.

This bike will not only be the country’s first dirt bike, but also the first (of Hero Honda’s motorcycles) to be launched under the new brand name.

With an engine displacement of 180cc, the dirt bike will be Hero’s first in the niche segment. Imported in completely knocked down, or CKD, form from Honda Motor, the dirt bike will be assembled in Hero Honda’s Gurgaon factory. An another source with knowledge of the launch said it would be priced between Rs.1.1 lakh and Rs.1.3 lakh.

Hero Honda’s move to introduce a sports bike comes at a time when rival Bajaj Auto Ltd is also set to launch similar two-wheelers from KTM Power Sports AG.

150cc - Handling - Comfort Comparison

Handling refers to the fact how easy the bike is to ride in traffic, cormering or to do twists on the roads.

Comfort is determined by the riding position comfort which doesnot pain you even after a long ride.

Apache and pulsar are the most vibrating and hence they are not surely comfortful, but they both make the best in handling, particularly pulsar gives you extremely good handling even at excellent speeds.

The true comfort is best in GS150R where you'll even doubt whether the engine is running or not. the broad handle gives you irritation as far as handling is considered.

Honestly speaking Dazzler comes as Jack of all trades but winner of none, usually we refer pulsar like this, blend of handling and comfort comes together in Dazzler and Hunk.

So Dazzler and Hunk holds good for comfort and Pulsar and Apache for handling.

Cheers!!!

150cc - POWER & WEIGHT Comparison

Considering power and weight together is for the reason determining the pulling power of the bike. (note: this is not exactly about power-weight ratio)

The leader for this comparison was apache with output power of 15.4bhp @ 8500rpm and weight of 136kgs. The least weighed and most powerful engine makes it the leader. Closely followed by pulsar150 (2010) with 15.06bhp @ 9000rpm and weighing just 137kgs.

The third position for CB Dazzler, followed by HH Hunk, Fazer and GS150R.

GS150R is the least powered bike and hence comes the last not only engine power but also the weight of the bike which makes is far behind its predecessor FZ-Series.

It is to be noted that as the output power increases, the mileage will be decreased as they are inversely proportional.

BUT AM WONDERING WHY FZ SERIES GIVES POOR MILEAGE?

Cheers!!!
